APDFL PRESENTS 2018 COMMISSIONERS MVP AWARD NOMINEES

2018 National Commissioners MVP Award Nominees

Atlanta, Georgia – The Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL) proudly presents the nominees for the 2018 APDFL Commissioners MVP Award. The Commissioners MVP Award is awarded annually to an individual that has displayed a great deal of professionalism both on and off the field over the course of the season. This award is presented to an individual whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. The recipient epitomizes great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.

The 2018 nominees each proved to be an integral part of their organization over the course of the season. Opposing teams were tasked with having to game plan against them on a weekly basis as they proved to maintain one-step above their opponents.

The following are the nominations for the 2018 Commissioners MVP Award. Nominees must be in attendance to receive an award.

 


Chris Calhoun
Quarterback
Alabama Blackhawks

Over the course of the regular season, Calhoun threw for 1411 yards and 21 TDs. Completing the season with a QB rating of 93.7. Calhoun was an integral part of the Blackhawks 10-3 season record and the top-ranked offense in the league.

Jyron Walters
Quarterback
Crescent City Kings

Over the course of the regular season, Walters threw for 2069 yds and 23 TDs. Completing the season with a QB rating of 98.0. Walters continued to build on his astonishing numbers from his 2017 season as the all-time leading passer in the APDFL.

Tyrone Jones
Athlete
Greater Pensacola Jets

Over the course of the regular season, Jones threw for 1143 yds and 7 TDs. On the ground, he tallied 1169 yds rushing and another 9 TDs. Ending the season as the leagues leading rusher and playing an integral part in the Jets completing their best season to date as members of the APDFL.

Labarron Mallory
Athlete
Gulf Coast Gators

Mallory spent time playing several positions over the course of the regular season and played an integral part in the Gators finishing the season with a record of 10-2. He managed to find the end zone while playing QB, WR, DB, and Punt Returner. Proving that he may very well be the most versatile player in the league.

Carl Davis Jr.
Quarterback
Tuskegee Arymen

Over the course of the regular season, Davis threw for a total of 2161 yds and 24 TDs. Completing the regular season with a QB rating of 116.4. Davis was an integral part of the Arymens 7-4 season and finished the regular season as the leagues leading QB.

Kyle Caldwell
Quarterback
Prattville Patriots

Caldwell stepped on the field for the first time in 2018 during week 6 of the regular season with the Patriots in a whole at 0-5. Over the course of 5 weeks, Caldwell threw for 1087 yds and 14 TDs. Finishing the regular season with a QB rating of 102.1 and giving a stagnant offense the life it needed to win 8 games straight and make their way into the National Championship. Caldwell doubled as the Patriots Fied Goalkicker going 2/2 on extra points and 9/11 on field goals.   


LeSteven Jackson
Athlete
Mississippi Dynasty

Jackson came into the 2018 season as the 2-time back-to-back Commissioners MVP recipient and continued right where he left off. Over a course of 6 games at the QB position, Jackson threw for 792 yds and 8 TDs. He finished the regular season with a QB rating of 94.1. While on the ground, he rushed 50 times for 193 yds over this same period of time. Jackson is an integral part of the Dynasty success as he leads them back to the National Championship for the 2nd consecutive season. 


Justin Robinson
Defensive End
Prattville Patriots

Robinson made a mark this season by taking total control of the opponents offensive backfield. He completed the regular season with 71 total tackles, 41 tackles for a loss, 20 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. Robinson is an integral part of the Patriots stout and dominant defense.
