Mobile, AL - The 2024 APDFL season kicks off with two “Week 0” games on Saturday. A top two match-up is set to headline the weekend. 

First, No. 6 Alabama War Dawgs will face the hometown team, No. 4 Port City Vikings. Followed by a top two match-up between No. 2 Columbus Storm and No. 1 Crescent City Kings. Let’s take a look deeper at these two contests.

Vikings come into this years Commissioners Classic highly favored. Playing on their home turf, they should find themselves with a slight advantage. On the other hand, the War Dawgs come into the season looking for war. With a chip on their shoulder and a season in their rear view, they know what to expect. Will that be enough to jump start the season?

Kings come into the 2024 season highly favored to walk away with their second crown. They kick off their campaign with what some have indicated, will be a preview of the 2024 Presidents Cup. The Storm however, have plans of their own. An early season win over the Kings could put them in position to be considered the dominant force. In what is expected to be one of the most anticipated opening games across the country, can the “Storm” bring remnants of Hurricane Katrina to the Yellowhammer State?
