14 May 2021
By: APDFL Staff Writer

Jacksonville, FL – This weekend we celebrate Military Appreciation Week across the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League. We would like to give thanks to all service members be it past, present, or future. Thank you for your service and understand it does not go unnoticed.

In conjunction, the APDFL has yet another weekend of great match-ups on the slate. Let’s take a look at this weekends contests.

(22) Georgia Crushers (2-6) @ (10) Georgia Thrashers (5-3)
Snellville, GA
6:00PM
Crushers come into this contest looking to play spoiler. Thrashers are coming off of back-to-back loses on the road and will once again have the comfort of their home field at their disposal. Looking to regroup and get things headed in the right direction, they will be more determined this weekend to make a statement than they have in previous weeks.
Georgia Thrashers – 48
Georgia Crushers – 0

(7) Tuskegee Ayrmen (6-2) @ (17) Atlanta Tigers (3-5)
Austell, GA
6:00PM
Both teams understand that this weekends contest has a great deal of playoff implications. The Ayrmen have been playing good football and could be considered the sleeper of the East. With a win the Ayrmen will increase their playoff position and would be one step closer to hosting a post-season contest. The Tigers on the other hand will come into this contest as if the post-season has already arrived. Continue winning and they keep their hopes alive. Playing at home this weekend should be an added benefit for them as they are expected to be at full throttle. How will they respond with their backs against the wall is the question.
Atlanta Tigers – 17
Tuskegee Ayrmen – 12

(15) Orlando Phantoms (3-4) @ (18) Georgia Noles (3-5)
Macon, GA
6:00PM
In their last meeting Phantoms were quite impressive. They dominated all aspects of the game and proved that they can possibly be the dominate team that most have come to expect. This week however, they will be playing on the road and will need to ensure they travel as a team to be victorious. Both teams are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive as a single loss for either will surely eliminate them from playoff contention.
Orlando Phantoms – 16
Georgia Noles – 14

(14) West Mobile 49ers (4-2) @ (8) Panhandle Crusaders (6-2)
Pensacola, FL
6:00PM
49ers feel they have yet to get the respect that they deserve. This weekend they get to prove exactly how good they are as they make the short trip to Pensacola. Both teams are playing for post-season position. Crusaders are looking to fight their way into hosting a post-season game and playing at home should provide them with a much needed advantage.
Panhandle Crusaders – 26
West Mobile 49ers – 16

(9) Gulf Coast Gators (5-2) @ (23) Greater Pensacola Jets (2-6)
Pensacola, FL
3:00PM
A cross town rivalry game that has been highly anticipated by both teams. Gators come into this game looking to walk away with a victory as they fight to improve on their present standing. The Jets look to play spoiler as it’s nothing that would make the end of their season more peaceful. With the anticipation being as high as it’s been, both teams are expected to be at full force for this contest. The Gators will prove to be just too dominate for the Jets to overcome.
Gulf Coast Gators – 35
Greater Pensacola Jets – 16

(16) Louisiana Lightning (3-5) @ (4) Mississippi Dynasty (5-2)
Pearl, MS
7:00PM
Lightning have not played up to expectations thus far this season. They will need to turn that around quickly or they could find themselves eliminated from post-season play with a loss this weekend. Dynasty have come on after dropping two early season games and seem to have flipped the switch. Playing at home this weekend should provide them with a slight advantage as they will be at full steam.

Mississippi Dynasty – 28
Louisiana Lightning – 17

(2) Bayou Lacombe Cardinals (8-0) @ (13) Crescent City Kings (3-3)
New Orleans, LA
7:00PM
Cardinals have been very impressive over the course of the regular season. With a win this weekend, or next, they lock up home field advantage and the #1 seed in the western conference. Kings however, will show up to play and playing at home should provide them with a much needed advantage. If they are looking to make their way into post-season play a win will be required. However, this weekend it won’t come easy.
Bayou Lacombe Cardinals – 17
Crescent City Kings – 12

CO-GAME OF THE WEEK
(6) Pike County Titans (5-2) @ (3) Alabama Blackhawks (6-1)

Pinson, AL
6:30PM
Both teams come into this contest having been playing some really good football. Titans have been a surprise from start to finish and have challenged everyone put in front of them. They find themselves playing for post-season position and having to do so against a strong Blackhawks team. Blackhawks have found themselves in the Eastern Conference Championship game two seasons in a row. With three games remaining, this week their level of play will surely be tested. However, playing at home should provide them with an advantage.
Alabama Blackhawks – 24
Pike County Titans – 20

GAME OF THE WEEK
(24) Crescent City Rampage (1-6) @ (21) Tri-City Savages (2-6)

Hattiesburg, MS
7:00PM
This one should be a good one. Both teams are playing for nothing more than respect as they have both been eliminated from post-season contention. Rampage have found themselves in some tough games but have just come up short time and time again. To be victorious they need to find a way to play for a complete 60 minutes. The Savages on the other hand have found that their primary issue is simply numbers. Playing short handed week in and week out doesn’t seem to be good for their record so it seems. However, playing at home this weekend will provide them with the advantage they need to pull out the win.
Tri-City Savages – 12
Crescent City Rampage – 8

There you have it! The Predictions are in and the only thing left to do is to play the games. Like I always say, don’t hate the predictions, SIMPLY PROVE THEM WRONG!!
