Clayton, AL – Entering the season as the No. 19 ranked team, Chilton Tigers will take the field for their second season in 2020 and will look to improve on the field. Off the field however, their goal and direction has continued to blossom. “The goal of our team is to help these young men move onto the next level,” said team owner Blake Shirah. “Our team is built with no less than 50% of players being recent graduates of high school with some older veterans sprinkled in.” “We provide an avenue to play football and an added look while these guys improve their academic ability.”

Chilton will rely on a few outstanding athletes this season as they look to improve on their 2019 (2-8) season. “Anthony Johnson, from Jacksonville State, is a monster WR and Jaryus Wilson is one of the best QB’s in the league,” said Shirah. On the defensive side of the ball, “Vincent Tyus will be a standout and Anthony Jones was a dominant DE a season ago.” “Darius Davis lead our team in interceptions last year with 5 and will be returning.”

“Obviously winning is important but we are a big family and I love all of my guys like brothers,” added Shirah. “I feel it’s a do or die year as we have adopted the phrase ‘be phenomenal or be forgotten’.”

Chilton will get the opportunity to be ‘phenomenal’ in their opening game this season in front of their home crowd against Tallahassee Unconquered.
