AUGUSTA DUCKS TO FACE MICHIGAN VIPERS IN J.D. PAUGH MEMORIAL BOWL GAME

Augusta, GA – The Augusta Ducks will take to the field for the first time as members of the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL) on January 13th as they participate in National Bowl Weekend in the J.D. Paugh Memorial Bowl. The Ducks will face a tough opponent as they square off against the Michigan Vipers of the Minor Football League (MFL).

The Ducks will enter bowl weekend with an impressive overall record. In their 3 seasons of existence, they have tallied an overall record of 34-4 and have walked away with a great deal of hardware to accompany them. To date, they have been crowned league champion (DSFL), Georgia vs Florida border champion and 2017 NFE National Champion. Winning has become a way of life for the Ducks.

When asked how he feels about the Ducks preparation going into bowl weekend, Owner, and Head Coach, Chris Bradley Sr. stated “very well! I’m not big on game film because I feel once you watch the film you try to rehearse how the game will go and once that’s changed your game plan is messed up but I think we are very prepared for our match up.”

The Ducks will get to benefit in this seasons bowl game as they won’t have to travel far for this matchup. In their previous National Championship title, they traveled to DeLand, Florida where they defeated the Mass State Wolverines in the NFE Tangerine Bowl by a score of 30-6.

When asked how their previous National Championship may assist them in their preparation, Bradley stated, “we treat every game as a regular game as it keeps the nerves settled down. The promoters give it the National spotlight, we try to ignore that.”

If the Ducks are to be victorious they will need to get big games out of several stand out players. Players expected to play a key role include #13 J.D Johnson (ATH), #1 Kevin Davenport (WR), #51 Casper Brinkley (DL) and #53 Henderson Ware (DL).

The Ducks and Vipers will face off in game 3 of Semi-Pro Elites National Bowl Weekend. Other matchups are as follows: East Carolina Rams vs South Carolina Seahawks in the Georgia Classic Bowl and Texas Bulldogs vs South Carolina Bulls in the Augusta Invitational.
