East Alabama Predators enter at No. 9

Mike Martin is the owner of the East Alabama Predators, who are looking to make a name for themselves this season in the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League.

Of course, the APDFL is a league chock-full of talent, and the Predators won’t have it easy this season. They’ve got a tough schedule, with the No. 7, No. 6, No. 5, No. 4 and No. 2 ranked teams in the league all making appearances throughout the season. This is also East Alabama’s first season in the APDFL, so there could be somewhat of a learning curve.

Martin doesn’t appear to be intimidated, though, because he is looking for big things out of his squad.

“My expectation for the season is for the team to compete with the guys in the league and bring home a championship,” he told Developmental Football USA. “I think the APDFL is a great league and it’s a great platform for guys making it to the next level.”

Martin is excited for his offense heading into the season. Not only are the Predators expected to have a really good offensive line, but they have athletes at all the skill positions — so this could be a very dangerous unit.

“Defensive-wise, our secondary is going to be one of the strongest you will see in this league,” the owner boasted. He’s also excited for a defensive front-four that should be able to blow up gaps week-in and week-out.

The Predators kick off the season as part of the Commissioners Kick-Off Classic, where they will be playing the Crescent City Rampage in the second game of the day.

As far as a game Martin is looking forward to, look ahead to the Predators’ March 23rd match-up with the Tuskegee Ayrmen.
