Jets Ranked #16

Pensacola, FL – Greater Pensacola Jets come into the 2019 season as preseason #16. In 2019, they will have their vision set on a much bigger prize than seasons of past and will look to regain the competitive edge that catapulted them to a Championship in their inaugural season as an organization.

We took time to sit down with Jets Owner and Head Coach, Fred Barnett.
Writer: During the off-season, the Jets had somewhat of a transitioning of the roster. How would you characterize the group coming in for the 2019 season?
Barnett: We have a diverse young talented group this season. A group who some thought their football careers were over.
Writer: Who would you say will be the key players this season?
Barnett: On the offensive side of the ball we were able to make a key pick up. We brought in QB Jeff Krisiak, former D3 QB and active duty navy flight student to anchor the offense. He’s a great leader and works hard to get the job done. On the defensive side of the ball, we brought back Linebacker Brandon Watkins. Watkins was an original Jet when we won the AMFL Championship. With the two we should be solid on both sides of the ball.
Writer: Are there any games on the schedule that immediately stand out to you?
Barnett: Yes there are a couple. Our cross-county rivals, Gulf Coast Gators, and the defending 2-time Champions, Mississippi Dynasty are both on our radar. I feel we will be very competitive this season and will make a run deep into the playoffs.

Barnett is expecting the Jets to take flight early and often in the 2019 season and with a core of fresh young players, they may be primed to shock a few challenging opponents.
