Century, FL – The T.C Venom, out of Century, FL, will make their national debut as members of the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL) on March 2nd. The Venom come into the 2019 season as the 22nd ranked team in the APDFL. Some of the Nations premier teams compete in the APDFL and the Venom are sure to have their hands full as they face top level competition on a weekly basis. Venom will need to be firing on all cylinders right out the gate as they make their day view on the road against one of the most improved teams in the country, Tuskegee Ayrmen. The Ayrmen have used the off-season to regroup and revamp and will be expected to contend for a National Championship.
Team owner and Head Coach, Luis Waters spoke with us about the Venom and what they will bring to the field and the APDFL in 2019.
Writer: Where will the Venom be playing this season and what area/s make up the roster?
Waters: Century, FL is our home location however, we have recruited players from 6 main schools in the surrounding area. One of which just won the Alabama State Title this year, one has 4 3A state rings, and two are some local power house schools that are bitter rivals.
Writer: When you look at your schedule do you see any key match ups that you’re looking forward to?
Waters: There are no key match ups but if I could say one thing to our opponents, don’t sleep on TC Venom. We are a group of hard nosed, strong, competitors, and losing is not acceptable. We know what we have to do and we will do it to the “T”.
Writer: How do you see the Venom completing the season?
Waters: This team I have assembled is going to be competitive. It’s early to say our first championship is coming, but definitely play-off contenders in our first season.
Writer: Is there anything that you would like to add?
Waters: I have a group of 40 men ready to show everyone on our schedule and the APDFL that we will not be taken lightly.
The Venom appear ready to play and prove that they are much better than their initial #22 ranking that has been bestowed upon them. Only time will tell.
