2019 Rivals Professional League holds NFL Style Draft

MT. CLEMENS, Mich., Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Rivals Professional Football League (RPFL), an adult professional developmental football league to the National Football League (NFL), Canadian Football League (CFL) and Arena Football League (AFL), today announced its official RPFL draft weekend experience at the historic Emerald Theater in downtown Mt. Clemens (located at 31 N. Walnut Street). The event is anticipated to be the biggest sporting event hosted in Mt. Clemens since Sports Illustrated hosted the Super Bowl XL party in 2006.

The RPFL preps football players for the next level of play in the AFL, CFL or NFL.  Players utilize the RPFL as a platform to further develop their skills and obtain quality game film footage which they use to market themselves as in the movie "Jerry Maguire."

The Pre-draft Welcome Party (cocktail attire) will take place Friday, September 14, 2018 at Emerald Theater from 8 p.m. to close.  There is no cost to attend the Welcome Party but early arrival is suggested.

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, more than 1,000 athletes from across the country will be attending the Rivals Professional Football League Draft starting at 9 a.m. with the hopes of hearing their name called to play for one of the 12 RPFL teams, either Atlanta, Detroit and/or Miami.  The draft will culminate in a catered, black-tie "glitz and glamor" event, complete with a red carpet and VIP experience. Cost is $40.00 per person to attend the Draft.  All tickets can be purchased at the door.  Former and current NFL players are expected to attend the RPFL Welcome Party and Draft for what is sure to be a star-studded event.

"The RFPL is pleased to host the 2018 draft in Mt. Clemens," said Quentin Hines, Founder, and CEO of RPFL.  "Last year, we hosted our draft in Miami.  The thousands who will be in attendance, including athletes, coaches, agents, friends, family, and fans, will drive economic development to the City of Mt. Clemens while maintaining an important sports tradition."

Hines, who has a passion for football since a kid, played three seasons under former head coach Brian Kelly at the University of Cincinnati, going back to back "Big East Conference Champs" in 2006 and 2007 before transferring to the University of Akron for his senior season.  In May of 2013, Hines was signed by the New England Patriots and was on the Patriots 2015 roster when they won the Super Bowl.  Hines is also a Mount Clemens High School graduate, earning first team all-county, all-region, and all-state honors.  "It is humbling to come back to your roots and help contribute to your local community," said Hines.  "A community that gave me an opportunity to be in the position that I am today."

The official presenting sponsor for the RPFL Draft Weekend Experience is QStride, Inc., a Detroit based Information Technology consulting and solutions services provider with a sales office in Mt. Clemens.
