Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League

The Gulf Coast Gators squared off with the #3 Mobile Generals in the APDFL's Game of the Week! The Gators marched their opening possession down the field and took an early lead when QB Robbie Morse hit WR Labarron Mallory on a wheel route down the right sideline for six! 

Later in the second quarter, after the Generals had taken a 7-6 lead, RB Jamarius Green found running room up the middle and raced to the end zone for his first rushing TD of the season. Kicker Ron McCanna would connect on a 25 yard FG right before the half to give the Gators a 15-7 halftime lead.

With QB Robbie Morse sidelined with an injury, Joshua Nettles got the call to lead the Gators offense in the second half. Nettles would drive the Gators into the Generals red zone when RB Jamarius Green took a direct snap off right tackle and found WR Jordan Ewing in the back of the end zone for the halfback pass TD! 

With the Gators up 21-7, the Generals would rattle off 14 unanswered points to get the game to overtime. After the Gators defense stifled the Mobile offense on their OT possession, the offense would have a chance to put the Generals away. Kicker McCanna would connect from 27 yards out on his second field goal of the night to give the Gators the 24-21 win!

The Gators will travel to Tallahassee next Saturday to face the Tallahassee Panthers @ 7pm!
