Rivalry Week Predictions

08 Apr 2022
By; APDFL Staff Writer

Jacksonville, FL - It’s Rivalry Week across the APDFL which ensures that every game played should be a good one. Let’s take a late look at this weekends match ups.

(17) Nashville Elite (1-3) @ (2) Georgia Thrashers (4-0),
Duluth, GA
6:30pm est.
One of the few exceptions this weekend as this one really isn’t a contestant for a rivalry week game. Nonetheless, Elite will make the trip to Georgia with upset on their mind. After an opening weekend surprise, they have yet to find a way to put it together on the field. This weekend will be their strongest test to date. Thrashers are typically a favorite anytime they step on the field. Playing at home with a full line-up should prove to be no different.
Georgia Thrashers - 48
Nashville Elite - 0

(5) Mississippi Dynasty (4-1) @ (19) South Alabama Dolphins (1-3)
Mobile, AL
7:00pm cst.
This one has tended to be a great match up over the past however, the Dolphins have yet to find a way to kick it into gear. If they are seeking to walk away with an upset win this weekend they will need to play their best game of the season. Dynasty will be looking to make a statement. Having come up short in a conference match up just a few weeks ago, post season position will be on their mind and they will come in focused and ready to dominate.
Mississippi Dynasty - 36
South Alabama Dolphins - 6

(12) Mobile Miners (3-1) @ (10) Greater Pensacola Jets (4-1),Pensacola, FL
3:00pm cst.
This should be a great contest! Miners took to the road a week ago and won in dominate fashion. This week the trip will be much shorter however, the opponent will bring with it a different style. The Jets have been flying high as of late and have no interest in slowing down. This won’t be the week that they are grounded.
Greater Pensacola Jets - 26
Mobile Miners - 16

(21) Georgia Noles (1-3) @ (3) Georgia Cobras (3-1),
Thomasville, GA.
4:00pm est.
Can the Noles revert back to form? That’s the biggest question here. A close overtime loss just a few weeks ago seemed to take some of the energy out of the Noles. This week if they aren’t able to regain that they may find themself deeper in the hole. Cobras simply need to play their game. Stick to the game plan at home and they will be victorious.
Georgia Cobras - 28
Georgia Noles - 10

(13) Pike County Titans (2-2) @ (23) South Mississippi Steelers (1-3), Mccomb, MS
5:00pm cst.
This one is sure to be a grudge match from start to finish. A game in which one team becomes two always has the possibility of ramifications and this one will be no different. The teams will battle for the right to say they are the top team in Mccomb. The biggest question here will be numbers. Which team will have a complete squad show up ready to show out?
Pike County Titans - 18
South Mississippi Steelers - 0

(25) Tri-City Bengals (0-3) @ (9) Florida Falcons (2-1),
Jacksonville, FL
7:00pm est.
Another contest not presently considered a rivalry game but of a great deal of importance. Bengals have struggled thus far to find the winning column. Playing in close games and coming up short has been a consistent habit. They will need to find a way to get over the hump. Falcons have been playing good football for the most part and will look to add to that this weekend. Playing at home in front of their home crowd will prove to be beneficial.
Florida Falcons - 40
Tri-City Bengals - 12

(14) Walton County Chiefs (2-2) @ (22) Pensacola Panthers (1-2),
Pensacola, FL
6:00pm cst.
Panthers are coming off of their first win of the season where they were able to squeak out a close one. They will look to build on that win this weekend as once again they get the chance to play before their home crowd. Chiefs coming to town should make for a good match up. Although both teams are in their inaugural seasons, their players know each other well. You can look forward to a scrappy hard-hitting game this weekend.
Walton County Chiefs - 16
Pensacola Panthers - 8

(20) Steel City Raptors (1-3) @ (15) Alabama Blackhawks (2-3),
Birmingham, AL
7:00pm cst.
In a contest like this anything can happen. Both organizations know each other well and have faced one another on multiple occasions. Not only is it a big rivalry game, it’s also an early season contest with a great deal of post season implications. With both teams basically playing at home, the location advantage has been eliminated from the equation. If the Raptors are able to put points on the board this could be the upset game of the week.
Alabama Blackhawks - 17
Steel City Raptors - 12

(11) Alabama Sabers (3-1) @ (6) Tuskegee Ayrmen (4-1)
Tuskegee, AL
7:00pm cst.
An exciting contest this one is sure to be. Both teams come in playing really good football and at a very high level. Sabers have looked good. Their only defeat came by way of a close contest that could have gone either way. Ayrmen only defeat of the season came in a much tougher manner. If they are able to keep the game close going into the final moments, their running attack could prove to be a bit too much for the Sabers. However, that will be hard to do.
Alabama Sabers - 26
Tuskegee Ayrmen - 20

(24) East Alabama Predators (1-4) @ (8) Columbus Storm (3-2),
Phenix City, AL
7:00pm cst
What was once expected to be a battle between conference leaders has taken on a course of its own. Predators are looking for an identity. In the process of doing so, they appear to be struggling in all three compartments of the game. Storm are hitting on all cylinders. With a defense that has the ability to eliminate their opponents chancing of getting in the end zone, this will be a tough weekend for the Predators.
Columbus Storm - 32
East Alabama Predators - 0

(26) Arkansas Sharks (0-3) @ (16) Arkansas Punishers (1-3)
Mountain Pine, AR
7:00pm cst.
The battle for Arkansas! Sharks continue to look for their first win on the season. Thus far this season they have struggled both at home and on the road. Punishers are coming off of their first win of the season. They will look to build on that win and playing at home should give them an added advantage.
Arkansas Punishers - 26
Arkansas Sharks - 6

(1) Crescent City Kings (4-0) @ (4) Bayou Lacombe Cardinals (5-0)
St. Tammany Parish, LA
7:00pm cst.
The top two teams in the Western Conference will face off this weekend in what is to surely be an epic contest. Kings have continued where they left off in the 2021 season and continue to prove to be Kings of the gridiron. Cardinals will attempt to be the team to fly above. The last two contests between these two came down to the final whistle and this one is expected to be more of the same. With the Kings being the Champs, going against them would not prove to be beneficial.
Crescent City Kings - 18
Bayou Lacombe Cardinals - 14

There you have it! The picks are in and only thing left to do is to play the games. Like I always say, don’t hate the predictions, SIMPLY PROVE THEM WRONG!!!
