Week 3 - Feed The Hungry Predictions

13 Mar 2020
By: Bernard Hunt

Jacksonville, FL – This weekend has always been one of the best and most productive weekends yearly across the APDFL. It’s ‘Feed The Hungry’, and members across the APDFL have always accepted and donated canned goods to those in need. With Covid-19 lurking in the shadows things have been slightly altered. Although we at the APDFL will continue to reach out and share with those less fortunate this weekend, we ask that each and everyone of you remain safe and make decisions that are best for both you and your family. We assure you that we will revist this important weekend again before the season is over. Let’s take a look at the games on the slate for this weekend.

(17) Redstone Raiders (0-2) @ (23) Tallahassee Unconquered (1-1)
Tallahassee, FL
POSTPONED!!

(15) Central Florida Gators (0-1) @ (19) Georgia Noles (0-2)
Macon, GA
POSTPONED!!

(4) Gulf Coast Gators (1-1) @ (18) Bayou Lacombe Cardinals (1-1)
Lacombe, LA
POSTPONED!!

(11) Alabama Tigers (2-0) @ (1) Mississippi Dynasty (2-0)
Camden, MS
POSTPONED!!

(22) Steel City Raptors (0-2) @ (20) Greater Pensacola JetsPensacola, FL
5:00 PM CST.
Raptors come into this contest without a victory however, have faced two of the leagues top 3 teams over the course of their first two games. The Jets have yet to prove that they are at the same level they were a season ago. If they are looking to go deep into the playoffs, the time for them to be competitive is now.
Steel City Raptors – 17
Greater Pensacola Jets – 12

(16) Tuskegee Ayrmen (1-1) @ (12) Selma City Vikings (1-1)Selma, AL
6:00 PM CST
Vikings are looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat a week ago. They will get that chance while defending their home-field turf for the first time this season. Ayrmen are coming off of a satisfying win. After having dropped a close one in their season opener, they bounced back to get a much needed win to stay abreast in the West. In what is sure to be a very even and competitive match-up, both teams will need to be playing their ‘A’ game to come out with the win. Playing at home should provide the Vikings with a slight advantage.
Selma City Vikings – 16
Tuskegee Ayrmen – 14

(8) Panhandle Crusaders (2-0) @ (12) Bay County Trailblazers (1-1)
Panama City Beach, FL
6:00 PM CST
Crusaders have been dominate over the first two games of the season and will look to continue that style of play this weekend. Trailblazers are coming off of a tight defeat in which they could have easily walked away victorious as well. Back at home this weekend they should be in full force and ready to defend their home field. The be victorious, the Trailblazers will need to play a mistake free game. They will need to find a way to contain the running attack of the Crusaders or they could be in for a long afternoon.
Panhandle Crusaders – 26
Bay County Trailblazers – 16

(6) Crescent City Kings (2-0) @ (18) Crescent City Rampage (1-1)
New Orleans, LA
7:00 PM CST
Kings have looked good over their first two outings and don’t look to change that this weekend. Facing their cross town foe, they will look to up the pressure and come out on the attack. The Rampage, in their tribute to their fallen team owner, Will Primus, shocked the league in their week 1 victory however, fell off when they took to the road in week two. This week they will need to bounce back if they are hoping to find a way to complete the upset victory.
Crescent City Kings – 38
Crescent City Rampage – 6

GAME OF THE WEEK
(5) Orlando Phantoms (2-0) @ (2) Georgia Cobras (1-0)

Monticello, FL
6:00 PM CST
This should be a good battle between two teams in the state of Florida that have received a great deal of attention over recent years. The Phantoms will face their first tough proven challenge as a member of the APDFL and will surely give the Cobras a good fight. Playing at home the Cobras should benefit from a slight advantage. To be victorious, the Phantoms will need to ensure that they are able to slow the air attack of the Cobras as they return the leagues top receiving duo. Slowing this combination will be hard to do. The Cobras defense, led by a solid linebacker core, is fast to the ball and has the ability to shut the run down. The Phantoms will need to keep them thinking over the course of the game if they are to pull off the upset.
Georgia Cobras – 29
Orlando Phantoms – 18

There you have it! Although late the predictions are in and the only thing left to do is to play the games. As I always say, don’t hate the predictions SIMPLY PROVE THEM WRONG!
