St. Tammany Parish, LA – Bayou Lacombe Cardinals enter 2020 ranked No. 18. Going into their 4th year. Some would argue that they should be a bit higher and will contend for the National Crown and could possibly be among the early favorites. With 3 “back-to-back-to-back” semifinal appearances in their previous league, Xtreme South Football League (XSFL), it’s fair to say that they have the ability to win games.

“We are excited to be in the Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL),” said team Executive Director Gerrin Narcisse. “In order to be the best you have to compete against the best and week end and week out, the APDFL has quality games of some of the best teams in the country,” Narcisse added.

With a motto such as “We Work, We Play, We Win: AS ONE,” you can quickly see why the Cardinals have a reputation of providing a family atmosphere both on and off the field. “We have a strong core of about 30 guys who have been with us since day one.” “In the off-season we added about 25 more young and hungry guys who are talented,” said Narcisse.

Cardinals will kickoff their 2020 campaign at home against the Alabama Blackhawks and will get the opportunity right out the gate to measure their ability and prove why they belong. “Our goal is to show what this team can do against quality competition.” “We will take things one game at a time and go 1 and 0 each week.”

The ultimate goal for the Cardinals will be to find themselves in the playoffs and to host the National Presidents Cup Trophy at the end of the season. “We have the talent, we have the mentality, we just have to execute,” said Narcisse.
