Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League

Jacksonville, FL - Amateur to Professional Developmental Football League (APDFL) released the head to head match-ups for the 2020 Commissioners Kickoff Classic. The 2020 Commissioners Kickoff Classic will take place on February 22 at Garrett-Harrison Stadium in Phenix City, AL. 2020 will mark the second consecutive season in which Phenix City, AL has played host to the official kickoff of the APDFL season. "We had three amazing games in 2019 however, the two games slated for this season are expected to be even more competitive."

Two of the four teams participating in this seasons classic will be making their first appearance as members of the APDFL. Central Florida Gators are no strangers to the APDFL having got their feet wet several years ago during the APDFL summer season. They will bring a well rounded organization into this match-up and will be more than ready to compete. Columbus Storm are not only new to the league, but will be playing in their first official regular season game as an organization. A quick look at their active roster and one can quickly conclude that they are expected to be among the elite. 

Scheduled to kickoff at 4:00 PM local time, Central Florida Gators will face the APDFL West runner-up, Gulf Coast Gators in what has been labeled as the "Battle of the Gator". "This could easily be the most anticipated game of the off season," stated APDFL Commissioner Bernard Hunt. "I can't think of anyone that has not requested to see this game." 

The nightcap is expected to be a thriller as well as the Columbus Storm will mark their arrival against their cross town rivalry, East Alabama Predators. Predators advanced deep into the playoffs in their 2019 campaign but came up just short to the APDFL East Champion Georgia Cobras. "The make up of these two teams, along with their proximity, made this match-up a no brainier," said Hunt. "These guys have been playing both together and against one another since they were in high school."

Both games are expected to be action packed and will mark the official kickoff of the 2020 APDFL season.
